Todd Bowles, the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has intriguingly hinted that Tom Brady’s departure would be advantageous for the team.
In February, Brady declared his retirement. The Buccaneers acquired Baker Mayfield, a former first-round pick, to challenge Brady’s previous backup, Kyle Trask. The great quarterback will almost probably be a major step down in either case, and the squad is expected to have a difficult season. The Buccaneers are starting over and want to contend as long as they have a quality roster, but head coach Todd Bowles sees the bright side of Brady’s departure.
Without Brady, the team will undoubtedly receive less attention; but, supporters will be eagerly monitoring Brady’s replacement. After a few difficult seasons, Mayfield is currently on his fourth team. When the 28-year-old was selected with the first overall choice in the 2018 NFL Draft, he set records in his debut season and appeared to be the Cleveland Browns’ franchise quarterback going forward.
