Veteran tight end Jonnu Smith has made his intentions clear—he wants to finish his career with the Miami Dolphins. After signing with the team this offseason, Smith expressed his excitement about joining a franchise he believes is built for long-term success.
“I want to be here for the rest of my career,” Smith said in an interview. “This organization has the pieces to win now and in the future. I’m all in.”
Smith, 28, has played for multiple teams, including the Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, and Atlanta Falcons. Known for his versatility and athleticism, he has carved out a strong role as both a pass-catcher and blocker. In Miami, he will join forces with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and head coach Mike McDaniel, who has developed one of the league’s most explosive offenses.
While the Dolphins already have a solid group of weapons, including Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, Smith’s presence adds another dimension to their attack. His ability to stretch the field and provide reliable red-zone production makes him a valuable asset.
“I’ve learned a lot over the years, and I’m ready to bring everything I have to this team,” Smith added. “There’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
With his commitment to the Dolphins, Smith aims to contribute to a potential Super Bowl run while solidifying his legacy in Miami. If all goes according to plan, he won’t be wearing another jersey before he hangs up his cleats.
