At the 2025 Grammy Awards on Sunday, Teddy Swims was nominated for Best New Artist but ultimately lost to Chappell Roan. Despite the setback, Swims took the stage for a performance, which also led many viewers to realize that he and fellow musician Jelly Roll are two different people. However, while both artists received attention that night, only one is facing controversy—Teddy Swims, who is being accused of copying a fashion brand’s design for his awards show outfit.
Luxury fashion label Windowsen took to Instagram to call out Swims for allegedly replicating their couture design without permission. The brand posted a side-by-side comparison of Swims’ Grammy look and their original creation, stating that they were disappointed to see such a strikingly similar outfit on the red carpet.
According to Windowsen, Swims’ stylist initially contacted them in January 2025 via Instagram and email, expressing admiration for their “pearl suit” design. However, the brand clarified that the suit was a custom couture piece made exclusively for Chinese artist Silence Wang, who wore it during his concert in December 2024. Since it was a bespoke order, Windowsen informed Swims’ team that it could not be reproduced.
Despite this, Swims appeared at the Grammys in an outfit that closely resembled Windowsen’s original design, leading the brand to express shock and disappointment. Windowsen has since stated that they do not condone such actions and may take further steps to address the issue. Meanwhile, Cardi B was also seen at the Grammys wearing Windowsen boots, reinforcing the brand’s presence at the event.
