Stanley was a key player for Troy during the 2024 season, starting all 12 games and splitting time between center and right tackle. He logged 786 snaps without incurring a single penalty throughout the season. Initially starting at right tackle, Stanley shifted to center after starting center Eli Russ sustained an early-season injury. Even after Russ returned and moved to guard, Stanley continued to excel at center.
A native of Bogart, Georgia, Stanley joined Troy in 2023 after spending a season at Middle Georgia College. He redshirted during his first year with the Trojans but secured the starting right tackle position heading into the 2024 campaign. The 6-foot-3, 313-pound lineman has two years of eligibility remaining.
Notably, Stanley’s entry into the transfer portal was not previously reported, nor did he make a public announcement about his intentions. He becomes the third Troy starter to transfer since the conclusion of the 2024 season, following wide receiver Devonte Ross, who joined Penn State, and safety Ian Conerly-Goodly. Ross was a standout player, earning first-team All-Sun Belt honors.
Despite these departures, Troy has been active in bolstering its roster, adding two Division I transfers over the weekend. These include offensive lineman Patrick Screws from Georgia Tech and safety Steven Sannieniola from Vanderbilt.
This latest move underscores South Carolina’s commitment to strengthening its offensive line heading into the new season.
