NCAAF News: Alabama HC Kalen DeBoer issues warning to QB Jalen Milroe after win over……..

Alabama handled its matchup against the Mercer Bears with ease, avoiding any potential pitfalls as they cruised to a dominant 52-7 victory. Head coach Kalen DeBoer expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but took a moment to issue a measured warning to quarterback Jalen Milroe.

Coming off a crucial win over LSU, the Crimson Tide needed to maintain focus to avoid a costly mistake against an FCS opponent. Alabama’s convincing performance ensured their College Football Playoff hopes remained intact, with their dominance leaving no doubt.

Jalen Milroe had a solid showing, completing 11 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He also showcased his athleticism on the ground, adding 43 rushing yards and a touchdown. However, DeBoer highlighted an area for improvement in Milroe’s game, particularly his accuracy.

Speaking to reporters post-game, DeBoer noted, “Let’s make those throws and completions. They’re stacking the line of scrimmage, and that’s why we’re getting behind them.” His comments referred to Milroe missing his mark on several overthrown passes, an issue the coach didn’t overlook despite the lopsided victory.

As Alabama looks ahead to tougher competition, particularly with the playoffs on the horizon, DeBoer emphasized the need to clean up such errors. Against stronger teams, missed opportunities like overthrows could prove costly. While the Tide’s win over Mercer kept their momentum going, refining execution will be crucial as the stakes continue to rise.
