Physical Graffiti, a tribute band dedicated to preserving the legacy of Led Zeppelin, began in 1986 with founding members Matt Hethermann (also known as Rex Cactus) and Doug Putnam. The following year, Gary Fox joined the band, and in 1988, Johnny Mack completed the lineup. For 36 years, the same four musicians have performed together, sharing their love for Zeppelin’s timeless music. Matt, an avid fan of Jimmy Page during his teenage years, plays guitar, while Doug, with a natural voice that closely matches Robert Plant’s vocal range and power, handles lead vocals. Gary, like John Paul Jones, is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, and Johnny’s drumming mirrors the force and finesse of John Bonham.
Over the years, Physical Graffiti has played in venues across the United States and Canada, including clubs, theaters, and colleges. They also extended their reach internationally, touring in Israel in both 1992 and 1994. The band takes great pride in their role as torchbearers for Led Zeppelin’s incredible music, ensuring it continues to reach fans around the world.
Tickets for their upcoming show at the Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls, New York, are available for $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased at the Strand Box Office with cash or check, or online through Brown Paper Tickets. Doors will open at 6:30 PM, allowing access to the lobby, coffee shop, and box office.
