Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) is set to shut down after the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, marking a significant shift in the sport. However, one of their car numbers, the No. 41 Ford, will continue under the newly established Haas Factory Team, with reigning Xfinity Series champion Cole Custer as the driver.
This change leaves current No. 41 driver Ryan Preece without a ride for next season, but his three SHR teammates have already secured new opportunities. Josh Berry, who currently drives the No. 4 Ford, is set to replace Harrison Burton at Wood Brothers Racing, a historic team in NASCAR. Noah Gragson, driver of the No. 10 Ford, will transition to Front Row Motorsports, which has acquired one of SHR’s charters, and he will drive a third entry for the team. Meanwhile, Chase Briscoe, driver of the No. 14 Ford, will take over for Martin Truex Jr. at Joe Gibbs Racing, driving the No. 19 Toyota in 2025.
Regarding the remaining SHR car numbers, the No. 10 has found a new home with Kaulig Racing. This team will field the No. 10 Chevrolet in the Cup Series, replacing the No. 31, and Ty Dillon will be behind the wheel, taking over from Daniel Hemric. Kaulig’s other car, the No. 16 Chevrolet, has been driven by multiple drivers, including Dillon. However, A.J. Allmendinger is set to return to full-time racing in the No. 16 for the 2025 season.
The future of the No. 4 and No. 14 car numbers remains unclear, though they have been fixtures in the Cup Series for years. The upcoming 2025 season is slated to begin with the Daytona 500 on February 16.
