The Detroit Lions have revealed their latest acquisition, veteran defensive tackle Kyle Peko, who is set to join the team on a free-agent contract. The specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed at this time.

Peko’s journey to the NFL began at Cerritos College, a community college located in Southern California, before he transferred to Oregon State. Despite going undrafted in 2016, Peko inked a deal with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted rookie free agent. Over the course of nine years, Peko has established himself as a reliable presence in the league, accumulating 42 appearances and 13 starts across multiple teams, including two stints with the Broncos, as well as the Bills, Colts, Titans (twice), and Raiders. His most recent season with the Titans saw him deliver one of his finest performances, registering a career-high 22 tackles in 13 games, including 10 starts.

Standing at 6 feet 1 inch and weighing 305 pounds, Peko will aim to secure a role within the Lions’ interior defensive rotation, which also boasts talents like Alim McNeill, DJ Reader, Levi Onwuzurike, and Brodric Martin, alongside rookie sixth-round pick Mekhi Wingo.

Peko’s signing marks Detroit’s second addition of the day, following the earlier acquisition of safety and special teams standout C.J. Moore.
