Sad News: Western Bulldogs star player Bailey Smith has officially announce his retirement after…

Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has again discussed the uncertain future of Bailey Smith, a key player who has been sidelined from AFL action this year due to an ACL injury he sustained last December. Smith, who is also currently out of contract, has been the subject of ongoing rumors throughout the season, with speculation suggesting that he may leave the Bulldogs. Geelong and Collingwood are commonly believed to be the leading contenders for his services.

Beveridge recently acknowledged that his confidence in Smith remaining with the Bulldogs is waning as contract negotiations continue without resolution. “When a player hasn’t confirmed they’re staying, your confidence naturally starts to diminish as time goes by,” Beveridge explained to reporters on Friday.

When asked if he would prefer to have a clear decision from Smith regarding his future, Beveridge responded that he wouldn’t push for an early announcement. “If the player decides to reveal their decision early, they’ll inform the club,” he noted. He also acknowledged that the situation can be complex, as players often weigh multiple options and may take time to consider their next steps.

Beveridge’s comments underscore the growing uncertainty surrounding Smith’s future with the Bulldogs, as the prolonged contract discussions leave his status with the club in question.
