Breaking News:Rams targeted star turned down offer;I will not play for rams Again…….

With the trade deadline approaching and the third-year running back dissatisfied with his status in Los Angeles, Cam Akers and the Rams appeared headed for a divorce for several weeks. But despite the efforts of other suitors, Akers remained on the team as of Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.

Before the trade deadline, the Rams rejected a number of proposals for the unhappy tailback, according to a report on Wednesday from NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. Pelissero continued, citing sources, “Los Angeles is now working with Akers and his representation in hopes that he will play for the team again this season.”Later on Wednesday, Rams head coach Sean McVay revealed that he and Akers’ agent had “a really good conversation” and that they are “working through a couple different options.” The “possibility” that Akers practices this week, according to McVay, is mentioned.

“As far as playing on Sunday (at Buccaneers), I don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” McVay told the media. “We’re addressing a few distinct issues. As I mentioned earlier, following that talk, we likely came up with a few different possibilities for what we could do going forward. From there, we’ll be able to make a decision about whether to work with this group to get him back or pursue other options.”

It is unclear if the former second-round pick is prepared for a second opportunity in Los Angeles this week, but the Rams and their disgruntled running back are at a loss for what to do now that the trade deadline has passed: play or split ways.
