AFL News: Despite the setback against Bulldogs’ Daicos breaks 26-year-old Nathan Buckley record, makes history in AFL masterclass

In Collingwood’s 18-point loss to the Western Bulldogs, Nick Daicos set several records for the club and the AFL. Daicos, along with Jack Crisp, stood out as the best performers for Collingwood, nearly overcoming the team’s injury challenges. Marcus Bontempelli delivered an outstanding performance with 38 disposals and two goals, leading the Bulldogs to a decisive final quarter where they kicked five unanswered goals to secure a 15.10 (100) to 12.10 (82) victory.

Daicos shone in the first three quarters and ended the game with 32 disposals and two goals. His remarkable effort in contested situations was highlighted by 16 clearances and 27 contested possessions, breaking club records previously held by Nathan Buckley, who had set the clearance record at 15 in 1998.
