Sad News: Sacovie White of Georgia have been suspended due to….

Sacovie White, a Georgia football player, was apprehended early Saturday on charges of reckless driving and traveling down a one-way street, as per the Athens-Clarke Co. (Ga.) jail logs. The incident occurred at 3:04 a.m., with White being subsequently released on two bonds totaling $26 about an hour later.

Reportedly, White was driving at a considerable speed in the wrong direction, with a passenger hanging out of the vehicle’s window, as stated in the arresting officer’s report, which was obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The officer stopped White at 2:06 a.m. in downtown Athens.

The report emphasized White’s blatant disregard for the safety of his passengers, himself, and other civilians, particularly during a time of high pedestrian traffic, as revelers were leaving bars, further underlining the public threat posed by the Bulldogs freshman.

Upon being pulled over, White cooperated with the police officer and was taken into custody without resistance, the report noted. This incident adds to a series of driving-related occurrences involving Georgia football personnel. Notably, the program was rocked by the tragic Jan. 15, 2023, crash that claimed the lives of recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy and offensive lineman Devin Willock.

White’s arrest marks the 17th driving-related incident involving individuals associated with the Georgia football program being either jailed or cited for a traffic-related offense since January 2023, according to the AJC. Prior to White’s arrest, the most recent incident involved transfer running back Trevor Etienne, who was apprehended for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and two misdemeanor charges.
