Injury Update: He is back

The Braves faced another rainout on Saturday, but the team provided several injury updates. Pierce Johnson’s return from the injured list (IL) was a welcome development, especially since his initial diagnosis of “elbow inflammation” suggested a potentially more serious issue. Fortunately, his IL stint was brief.

In other news, Travis d’Arnaud has managed to avoid a concussion. While he will take a couple of days off, he will still be available as a backup. Sean Murphy is progressing well and is expected to begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday, indicating that his return is imminent.

Austin Riley, however, remains sidelined due to side tightness. He has not yet begun swinging a bat and does not have a clear timeline for his return, although he is hopeful he can avoid being placed on the IL.

These updates provide a mixed bag for the Braves, with some players making strides towards recovery while others still face uncertain return dates.
