MOMENTS TO WAKEUP: P20 for the 7-Eleven Chevy after a rollercoaster of a day. From sliding through the pit stall to finding speed late, it looked like a comeback was on — until it all unraveled over one of Texas’ infamous bumps. “I said to myself ‘Ok, let’s go’… and then lost the rear end.” Kansas is up next, and Rowdy’s ready to rebound this…..

It was a day of ups and downs for the driver of the No. 7-Eleven Chevrolet, who ultimately crossed the finish line in 20th place after a race filled with both promise and frustration. What started with early challenges—most notably a costly slide through the pit stall—gradually turned into a glimmer of hope as the car found its rhythm and picked up speed during the later stages of the event. The team appeared to be mounting a solid comeback, with momentum building and positions being gained. There was a sense that, despite the rocky beginning, a strong finish could still be within reach.

However, that hope was short-lived as one of Texas Motor Speedway’s notorious bumps threw everything off course. Just as things were looking up, a sudden loss of rear grip derailed the run, forcing the driver to wrestle with the car and ultimately lose critical ground. “I told myself, ‘Alright, let’s go,’” the driver recounted, reflecting on the moment where everything seemed to be coming together. But seconds later, the car’s rear end snapped loose, and the chance at a strong rebound slipped away in an instant.

Despite the disappointing finish, the team isn’t letting this setback define them. With Kansas Speedway on the horizon, there’s renewed determination in the air. Rowdy and the crew are turning the page, focusing on refining their setup and sharpening their execution. The goal is clear: to take the lessons learned from Texas and deliver a more complete, competitive performance next time out. The comeback is just getting started.
