Troy Henderson, a 6’0” point guard, has made a name for himself in Virginia high school basketball with his elite playmaking and scoring ability. After spending his first three seasons at Lancaster High School, where he led his team to back-to-back Class 1 state championships, Henderson transferred to John Marshall (VA) for his senior year. His impact on the court has been undeniable, earning him two Virginia High School Player of the Year honors and putting up an impressive 1,800+ career points in high school.

As a junior at Lancaster, Henderson showcased his all-around game, averaging 25.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 3.1 steals per game. His ability to control the game as a floor general while also being a dominant scorer set him apart from his peers. His talent extended beyond high school competition, as he also competed in AAU basketball alongside top 50 recruits like Nate Ament, where he logged the most minutes on a team stacked with future Division I talent.

Despite being committed to Fordham for over a year, Henderson re-evaluated his options following the program’s coaching change. Regardless of his official “offer list,” his decision will be based on finding the best fit for his skill set and development.

With his high basketball IQ, leadership, and proven success at the high school level, Henderson is a strong addition to any program. Pairing him with a veteran presence in the transfer portal could create an ideal backcourt rotation, giving his next team a dynamic and battle-tested point guard ready to make an immediate impact.
