Breaking: Kevin Magnussen Shuts Down F1 Return, Focused on Sports Car Racing Against……

Despite ongoing speculation about a possible return to Formula 1, Kevin Magnussen has firmly denied any interest in rejoining the series. The Danish driver, who has transitioned to sports car racing, made it clear that he is fully committed to his current path and has no intention of stepping away from it.

Magnussen is currently competing in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with BMW. He expressed deep satisfaction with his new racing career, noting that he finds a level of enjoyment and fulfillment in endurance racing that he often lacked in Formula 1.

In an interview with RACER, Magnussen acknowledged the persistent rumors linking him to an F1 return but dismissed them outright. “These kinds of speculations always seem to surface, but I’m really happy where I am. Competing in WEC, particularly in the Hypercar category, and taking part in endurance races like those in IMSA is incredibly exciting,” he said.

The Hypercar class has drawn top manufacturers and drivers, leading to what many consider a golden age for sports car racing. Magnussen sees this as an opportunity to compete at the highest level and chase victories in some of the world’s most prestigious endurance events.

Having spent over a decade in Formula 1 and accumulated nearly 200 grand prix starts, Magnussen has fond memories of his time in the series. However, he admitted that the fight for minor points or mid-table finishes wasn’t as thrilling as battling for wins. Now, with BMW’s M Hybrid V8 GTP program, he feels he has a real shot at claiming victories, including at legendary races like Le Mans.

Magnussen remains focused on his sports car racing ambitions, where he believes he can achieve greater success and chase championship titles—something that eluded him in F1.
