Jurickson Profar Signs Three-Year Deal with Atlanta Braves
The Atlanta Braves announced Thursday that outfielder Jurickson Profar has signed a three-year, $42 million contract. Profar, ranked No. 15 on Yahoo Sports’ Top 50 MLB free agent list, will earn $12 million in 2025, followed by $15 million in both 2026 and 2027.
In addition to his contract, Profar has pledged to donate 1% of his salary to the Atlanta Braves Foundation. The foundation focuses on promoting community engagement through baseball, supporting underserved populations, and improving access to sports, education, and health resources for children and families in the Braves’ region.
Profar joins Atlanta following a standout season with the San Diego Padres, where he posted career-best numbers. He hit .280 with 24 home runs, 85 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. Among National League left fielders, he led in fWAR (4.3) and ranked above the 90th percentile in expected wOBA (.364) and expected batting average (.283). His performance at the plate also placed him as the sixth-best NL hitter by wRC+.
Defensively, Profar’s excellence earned him a starting spot in left field for the NL All-Star team, and his offensive production was recognized with a Silver Slugger Award. He now joins an Atlanta outfield featuring Michael Harris II and Ronald Acuña Jr., who is returning from an ACL injury.
Profar began his MLB journey with the Texas Rangers before stints with the Oakland A’s, San Diego Padres, and Colorado Rockies. Released by Colorado in 2023, he returned to the Padres before securing this new deal with Atlanta.
