ADRIAN THRILLS reviews Teddy Swims: I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2) – Get set for soul man to make a big splash……

Women Dominated Music in 2024, but Teddy Swims Is Leading a Male Solo Artist Surge

While 2024 saw women dominate the music scene, from Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour to Charli XCX’s “brat summer” and the rise of Chappell Roan, male solo artists quietly made their mark. Of the UK’s five best-selling singles, four were by male artists: Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, Hozier, and Teddy Swims. Sabrina Carpenter, with her hit “Espresso,” was the only female on the list.

Heading into 2025, Teddy Swims appears poised to continue the trend. Known for his mix of pop and soul, the American singer rose to fame with “Lose Control,” a heartfelt ballad about addiction and personal struggles. His career has gained momentum, with an upcoming arena tour in March and the release of his second studio album, I’ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2).

Born Jaten Dimsdale in suburban Atlanta, Swims began his musical journey by posting covers of Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One” and Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” on YouTube. Adopting the stage name Swims—an acronym for “Someone Who Isn’t Me Sometimes”—allowed him to perform in character, though his signature honesty remains central to his work.

His new album, a sequel to his 2023 debut, features 13 tracks co-written with regular collaborators, including Mikky Ekko and former One Direction songwriters Julian Bunetta and John Ryan. While still exploring the emotional depth and struggles of his past, Swims introduces a more positive tone, showcasing his powerful soul voice and nuanced storytelling.
