Hailie Deegan, an emerging talent in motorsports, is gearing up for a significant transition as she prepares to debut in the IndyCar Series during the 2025 season. With the season’s start in March fast approaching, the former NASCAR driver is focused on adapting to the demands of open-wheel racing. Amid her preparations, Deegan continues to engage fans through her YouTube channel, where she recently offered a glimpse into her personal life by sharing a family milestone: her younger brother Hudson’s foray into more advanced racing.
In a recent video, Deegan documented Hudson’s first experience with a faster go-kart, a step up from the go-karts he typically drives at home. “I grabbed Chase’s gear for him and stuff, got my extra helmet, and he’s going to come drive my tag car for the first time,” Deegan explained. While she took on the role of mentor, her brother’s limited experience quickly became evident as he repeatedly lost control of the kart, spinning out multiple times.
Despite her visible frustration, Hailie maintained a sense of humor, commenting, “Boy, practice your driving. Everyone might think I’m overplaying it, but I’m not.” The video highlighted not just the challenges Hudson faced, but also the patience and determination required to master racing fundamentals. Reflecting on the learning curve that all drivers encounter, Hailie remarked, “He’ll probably wreck a few times—hopefully not too bad.”
The moment showcased the sibling bond while underscoring the steep path to success in motorsports, one that Hailie herself has navigated.
