The Oasis brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, often enjoy taunting Manchester United over their struggles to win major trophies in recent years. However, United’s players are hoping that friendships formed with Manchester City stars during international duty and other events might help them secure tickets to an upcoming Oasis reunion concert.
Some tickets might make their way to United players like Amad Diallo and Bruno Fernandes, but they’ll likely need help from City connections. A source noted, “United’s players are used to being the center of attention and having people who can arrange anything for them. However, they know reaching out to Liam or Noel directly won’t work, so they’re relying on their City friends to pull some strings.”
Oasis is scheduled to perform at Manchester’s Heaton Park in July, and City’s Jack Grealish has already expressed his enthusiasm about attending. Grealish mentioned that he hasn’t secured tickets yet due to uncertainty around City’s participation in the Club World Cup next summer but assured fans, “Trust me, I’ll be there. It’ll be my first time seeing them live.”
Noel Gallagher, a close friend of City manager Pep Guardiola, has shared that most of his extended family actually supports United, with the exception of himself, Liam, and their brother Paul. He recalled, “There are about 6,000 of us, and most are United fans, but I’m thankful my dad took us to watch City.”
Oasis disbanded in 2009, shortly after City’s acquisition by the Abu Dhabi United Group. Since then, City has claimed eight Premier League titles, while United hasn’t won the league since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
