Oasis has revealed an exciting project to honor the 30th anniversary of one of their most iconic releases. The legendary band, known for the turbulent relationship between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, announced a highly anticipated reunion earlier this year, with live shows scheduled across the UK, US, Ireland, Canada, Australia, South America, Japan, and South Korea.
December 19 marks the 30th anniversary of their classic single “Whatever.” To commemorate the occasion, Oasis has released a 4K remastered version of the song’s original music video, now available on their official YouTube channel. Alongside the upgraded visuals, the remastered audio provides fans with a fresh take on the beloved track.
Additionally, the band has unveiled a limited edition numbered 7″ vinyl in pink and blue splatter design, set for release on February 21. The special edition will include the remastered version of “Whatever” and the B-side track “(It’s Good) To Be Free.” Pre-orders for the vinyl are now open.
Oasis disbanded in 2009, but their announcement of a reunion tour earlier this year sent waves of excitement through their fanbase. Tickets for the shows sold out almost immediately, though controversy arose when Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model caused prices to surge as demand skyrocketed.
In response to the backlash, Oasis issued a statement clarifying that ticketing and pricing decisions were managed by their promoters and management, and the band was unaware that dynamic pricing would be used. While the strategy was intended to keep ticket costs reasonable and reduce resale, its implementation fell short due to unprecedented demand. Despite this, Oasis emphasized that all parties worked to provide the best possible experience for fans.
