Teoscar Hernández is expected to rejoin the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2025 season despite declining the team’s qualifying offer, according to Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report. Hernández, who had an outstanding debut season with the Dodgers, made history as the first Dodger to win the Home Run Derby, earned All-Star honors, and set a career high in home runs.
Miller predicts that the Dodgers will focus on re-signing Hernández, even though they have expressed interest in free-agent shortstop Willy Adames. He suggests that Hernández may take priority due to his exceptional 2024 performance. In addition to setting personal bests in home runs, Hernández led the team in hits, home runs, and RBIs, second only to Shohei Ohtani. Miller estimates that the Dodgers could offer Hernández a $90 million contract this offseason, though other teams are expected to pursue the talented outfielder as well.
Hernández’s bond with the Dodgers organization and its fans has been evident. During the World Series parade, he delivered an emotional speech expressing his gratitude. “You guys made this dream come true. Thank you for making me a World Champion,” he said, visibly moved. Hernández has also voiced his desire to remain in Los Angeles, stating that the Dodgers are his top priority and that he’s committed to working toward a return.
While the Dodgers have parted ways with beloved players like Justin Turner, Joc Pederson, Cody Bellinger, and Corey Seager in the past, many believe Hernández will return. Fans are optimistic about seeing him back in the outfield at Camelback Ranch for spring training.
