Kyle Larson, the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series champion and three-time reigning Knoxville Nationals winner, is set to return to Australia with a new team as High Limit Racing Sprint Car makes its debut in the country. Larson will be joining Jason Pryde Motorsport for the three-day High Limit International: Perth event, which will take place at Perth Motorplex from December 28-30.
Although Larson has previously raced in Australia and New Zealand, this will be his first appearance on the western side of the country, particularly in Perth. To prepare for this new experience, Larson relied on his brother-in-law and co-owner of High Limit Racing, Brad Sweet, who recently spent time racing in Perth. Sweet helped Larson connect with Jason Pryde Motorsport, a Western Australia-based team known for competing in Sprint Car racing and Australian Trans-Am.
Larson expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, noting that he has heard great things about Jason Pryde Motorsport and is eager to work with the team. He is looking forward to meeting Pryde and his crew and is hopeful for a successful week of racing in Perth.
Jason Pryde, the team’s owner, shared his enthusiasm about Larson joining the team, calling it a significant honor. He acknowledged Larson’s global motorsport reputation and sees this collaboration as a testament to the competitiveness of Jason Pryde Motorsport. Pryde is also excited about the potential learning opportunities from Larson, given his extensive experience in Sprint Cars, NASCAR, and IndyCar.
The High Limit International: Perth event, announced in July, marks High Limit Racing’s first venture outside North America. The event will feature a record-breaking $100,000 prize for the winner of the finale, making it a highly anticipated event in Australian Sprint Car racing.
