Kevin Knox, a 25-year-old forward, recently completed a season where he played in 31 games for the Detroit Pistons, starting in 11 of those contests. He posted averages of 7.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game, with shooting percentages of 46.2% from the field and 33.0% from beyond the arc. In the middle of the season, Knox was traded to the Utah Jazz, who subsequently waived him. As of now, Knox remains a free agent, available to sign with any NBA team.

 

This offseason, Knox participated in the NBA Summer League as a member of the Golden State Warriors. During his time there, he impressed by averaging 16.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 47.1% from the field and 35.1% from three-point range over six games. Originally drafted ninth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft after one season at Kentucky, Knox has spent six seasons in the NBA, playing for the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and Atlanta Hawks.

 

Throughout his career, Knox has averaged 7.4 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, with shooting splits of 39.2% from the field and 34.1% from three-point range across 306 regular season games. He has also appeared in three playoff games with the Knicks and Hawks. Given his youth and pedigree as a recent first-round pick, Knox could be a valuable addition to an NBA roster ahead of the upcoming training camp. His performance in the Summer League suggests that he still has potential for growth in the coming seasons.
