Brame’s decision to commit to Tennessee comes less than a month after initially choosing Oregon over the Vols. The highly sought-after recruit had taken official visits to several schools, including LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Tennessee. Prior to his original commitment, Tennessee seemed to be in the lead, but Brame ultimately selected the Ducks.
Despite his initial choice, Tennessee continued to pursue Brame. The persistence of head coach Josh Heupel and tight ends coach Alec Abeln eventually paid off, resulting in Tennessee securing the talented tight end they had been targeting.
According to the 247sports composite rankings, Brame is a four-star recruit and ranks as the No. 112 player in the nation. He is also recognized as the No. 4 player in Kansas and the No. 5 tight end in the 2025 recruiting class.
At Derby High School, Brame had an impressive season, catching 46 passes for 942 yards and 13 touchdowns, leading the Panthers to an 11-2 record. The 6-foot-6, 235-pound athlete comes from a sports-oriented family, with his father having played football and his mother having played basketball at Kansas State.
Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class now boasts 19 commitments, including four-star tight end Jack Van Dorselaer, one of the Vols’ first commits for that cycle. Brame’s commitment has boosted Tennessee’s recruiting class ranking from No. 10 to No. 8 nationally, according to the 247sports team rankings. The Vols are currently experiencing a strong phase in recruiting, having secured four commitments in July and six in June.
