In her 2019 autobiography, “Riding The Waves: My Story,” Jane discussed the topic of having children. She mentioned that while she and Henrik had talked about starting a family, his plans for her career did not leave room for children. This contributed to her feeling lonely in their marriage.

She said, “Your manager is your boss and tells you what to do, what to wear and who to be, so our relationship changed. I loved him with all my heart, but felt he’d stopped looking at me as a wife. I became a product.”
In a 2018 interview with the Mirror, Jane clarified why she never speaks negatively about Henrik. She acknowledged that although he was originally a ship’s plumber before becoming her manager, he did his very best despite lacking industry experience. Jane recounted how Henrik eventually made many enemies within the industry and ultimately decided to leave her to protect her career. Henrik told her, “If I don’t leave you, you are never going to have a career.” Jane respected his decision and refrains from criticizing him because he chose to walk away from their marriage to save her career.
