Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese caught the eye of basketball legend Rebecca Lobo during the WNBA All-Star game, which was broadcast on ESPN. In the fourth quarter, Reese showcased her athletic prowess by catching a long pass from Jonquel Jones and converting it into a layup. The entire play was impressive, from Jones’ pass to Reese’s skillful catch and finish. Lobo, who was commentating on the game, praised Reese’s effort live on air, commending her ability to control the ball and score.

 

“An incredible catch and finish. For Angel Reese to be able to corral that and finish. Well done!” Lobo exclaimed after the play.

 

Reese concluded the All-Star game with an impressive performance, recording 12 points and 11 rebounds. Her contributions were crucial in helping Team WNBA secure a 117-109 victory over Team USA. Alongside Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark, Reese made history as the first pair of rookies to be featured on the same WNBA All-Star roster since 2014. Both players are strong contenders for the league’s Rookie of the Year award. Reese is averaging 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, while Clark is posting 17.1 points and 8.2 assists per game. Reese’s layup during the All-Star game and Lobo’s subsequent praise highlighted the rookie’s growing reputation. The 6-foot-3 forward has been gaining attention throughout the season, with many veteran players acknowledging her impressive skill set.
