Tragedy News: Deegan’s stint in the Xfinity Series was cut short due to poor

NASCAR insider David Land has reported that Hailie Deegan was spotted at the upcoming IndyCar race in Iowa, sparking speculation about her possible move to IndyCar after her release from AM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Deegan has established herself as one of the top female drivers in the U.S. Starting as a dirt track driver, she transitioned to stock car racing, joining Toyota’s driver development program in 2017.

Deegan debuted in the ARCA Menards Series in 2018 and won three races in the West Series. In 2020, she moved to Ford and made her full-time Truck Series debut with David Gilliland Racing in 2021. In 2023, she switched to ThorSport Racing before being promoted to the Xfinity Series for the 2024 season with AM Racing, driving their No. 15 Ford on a multi-year deal.

Despite her promising career, Deegan’s stint in the Xfinity Series was cut short due to poor performance. In 17 races, she failed to secure any top-10 finishes, leading to her replacement by two-time Cup Series champion Joey Logano for the Xfinity race in Chicago. This development has fueled rumors about Deegan potentially exploring opportunities in IndyCar racing.
