Stewart-Haas Racing announced in late May that the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season would be their final season, prompting all four of their current drivers to seek new teams for the 2025 season and beyond.
Two of these drivers secured new teams last month. Chase Briscoe signed with Joe Gibbs Racing to take over the No. 19 Toyota, replacing the retiring Martin Truex Jr. Josh Berry also found a new home with Wood Brothers Racing, where he will replace Harrison Burton in the No. 21 Ford.
Recently, it was confirmed that Noah Gragson will join Front Row Motorsports, replacing Michael McDowell, who is moving to Spire Motorsports. However, it remains unclear whether Gragson will drive the No. 34 Ford or another car number.
Gragson lost his seat with Legacy Motor Club during the 2023 season and subsequently signed with Stewart-Haas Racing to replace Aric Almirola in the No. 10 Ford for the 2024 season. The 25-year-old from Las Vegas, Nevada, had a challenging season last year with only two top 20 finishes in 21 starts. However, he has significantly improved this year, recording 13 top 20 finishes, including six top 10 finishes, and achieving a career-high third place in 20 starts. He is currently ranked 23rd in the point standings.
Front Row Motorsports announced plans to expand from two cars to three cars after the news broke about Stewart-Haas Racing’s closure, indicating that the team owned by Bob Jenkins would acquire one of Stewart-Haas Racing’s four charters.
Amid a career-best season, Todd Gilliland, who has driven the No. 38 Ford since 2022, signed a contract extension to stay with the team, leaving Front Row Motorsports with two seats to fill for the next season. With Gragson confirmed, the team now has only one remaining vacant seat, which hasn’t been run full-time since 2019, for their third car.
