The 60-year-old star, who was in a relationship with Eddie Rothe, the drummer for The Searchers, for 13 years until his passing from lung cancer in March 2021, has recently made a heartfelt announcement. Last year, she invited her close friend and backing singer, Sue Ravey, to move in with her. On Thursday (08.06.23), she took to social media to share the exciting news that they will be appearing together on the celebrity edition of the Channel 4 reality show ‘Celebrity Gogglebox.’
She tweeted: “I’m going to be appearing on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ with my best friend Sue – it’s going to be an absolute blast! We’ve shared some unforgettable moments over the years but I am really looking forward to spending time together on this wonderful show.”
The ‘You’re My World’ singer, who initially gained fame from the 1990s BBC docusoap ‘The Cruise’ and later became a daytime TV favorite as a panellist on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’ for nearly a decade, followed by hosting various travel shows on Channel 5, explained that having Sue move in was an obvious decision due to their long-standing friendship.
During a guest appearance on ‘Loose Women’ in 2022, she elaborated: “Sue has moved in with me, thank God, because she’s a really good cook and she’s really tidy. It was a no-brainer for me and Sue because Sue and I have been friends for 30 years now. We’ve got the same humor, we like the same food. I have a house, she had a house. We don’t really have cross words. We both like our own space, and a lot of people thought we were a couple. There’s nothing wrong with that, but we’re not together together. I love her, but not that much!”
Their appearance on ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ is set to be a delightful experience for both of them, bringing their chemistry and camaraderie to the small screen. Fans of the show can look forward to watching this dynamic duo share laughs and insights as they comment on television programs from the comfort of their home. The partnership on the show is a testament to their enduring friendship and the joy they find in each other’s company.
