Lando Norris has made it clear he wouldn’t alter his driving strategy at the Austrian Grand Prix after a post-race review. The McLaren driver had a collision with Max Verstappen while they were contending for the race lead, which resulted in Norris’s early exit from the race.
Verstappen managed to complete the race, finishing in fifth place, but received a 10-second time penalty and two penalty points for his role in the incident. Despite the collision, Norris stated that he wouldn’t change his approach if given another chance.
“I’m feeling good overall,” Norris expressed. “I’m very excited for the British Grand Prix. I’ve reviewed everything, we’ve gone over the incidents, and I have to say, I wouldn’t really change what I did. I was fighting, and that’s exactly what we want – to fight!
Norris emphasized the desire to compete rather than complain, acknowledging the unfortunate outcome for both him and Verstappen. He mentioned, “We don’t want to complain, and we don’t want things to end the way they did for either of us. That’s just how it goes sometimes.
He highlighted the competitive nature of the sport, where both drivers were pushing the limits to win. “We’re fighting, we both want to win, and we’re going to push it to the limits – some slightly more than others. But yeah, at the same time, I’m excited. We’re going to have more battles together, and I look forward to those moments.”
Norris remains optimistic about future races and the possibility of more thrilling battles with Verstappen, underscoring his eagerness to continue competing at the highest level.
