In 2025, Lewis Hamilton will join Scuderia Ferrari after a long and successful tenure with Mercedes, during which he achieved 82 wins and six World Driver Championships. Despite this illustrious career, Hamilton is still chasing one final victory. His third-place finish at the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix marked his first podium since Mexico City in 2023 and his first since announcing his move to Ferrari. In the post-race press conference, Hamilton expressed his desire to secure a win with Mercedes before the season ends, acknowledging that it “would be nice.”
However, Hamilton remained pragmatic about his prospects. He emphasized the importance of consistency and aiming to improve the team’s standing in the points. He stated, “I think just having consistency and seeing if we can put the team further up in the points… [has] got to be the target. Let’s just try and have more consistent weekends like this, and then we’ll see.”
Hamilton also mentioned the 2024 Canadian Grand Prix as an example of a near-win for his teammate George Russell, while subtly noting that he might have had a chance at victory himself if he had qualified better. His comments highlight both his commitment to the team and his personal drive to achieve another win before transitioning to Ferrari.
