Breaking: contract extension of Alex Márquez due to…

Gresini Racing, under contract with Ducati until 2025 to remain one of their satellite teams, has renewed their partnership with Alex Marquez for the next season. This extension completes half of Gresini’s rider lineup, following the recent news that his older brother, Marc Marquez, will join the factory Ducati team in 2025.

Alex Marquez, after a challenging stint with the LCR team due to Jorge Lorenzo’s premature retirement and the underperforming RC213V, sought a new opportunity and signed with Gresini. He made his debut at the 2023 Portuguese GP, finishing in a promising fifth position while sharing the garage with Italian Fabio Di Giannantonio, both riding year-old bikes.

In his first season with Gresini, Marquez achieved two podium finishes and won two Sprint races in Great Britain and Malaysia. This year, he is joined by his brother Marc Marquez as teammates, both riding last year’s Desmosedici GP23.

Turning 28 earlier this year, Alex Marquez began his world championship career in 2012, winning the Moto3 title in 2014 and the Moto2 title in 2019. His success led to a promotion to MotoGP with Honda in 2020, where he secured podium finishes at the Le Mans and Aragon races.
