The prominent player was reportedly affected by a back spasm during the team’s primary training session ahead of Saturday’s match against the Roos, as per 7 News reporter Mitch Cleary.
This setback has put Bontempelli’s participation in the upcoming game in doubt, posing a potential problem for coach Luke Beveridge, who might miss one of the league’s top players against a strong North Melbourne squad.
Despite his current ailment, Bontempelli has proven his resilience twice this year by overcoming illnesses to participate in games, delivering some of his best performances in 2024 during those weeks.
