SAD NEWS: FOUR DRIVERS INVESTIGATED AFTER F1 SPANISH GP PRACTICE COLLISIONS INVOLVING…..

Lewis Hamilton, Lance Stroll, Charles Leclerc, and Lando Norris are all under scrutiny by the Spanish Grand Prix stewards after two unusual collisions during the final practice session. As drivers aimed to perfect their setups and tire strategies before qualifying, tensions were high, leading to incidents on the track.

The first incident occurred around the 20-minute mark when Hamilton, moving slowly, inadvertently obstructed Stroll, who was on a fast lap through Turn 5. Despite Hamilton’s immediate apology and attempt to move out of Stroll’s way, the two made light contact on the downhill exit. This led to both drivers being summoned for an investigation into potentially dangerous driving, as per Article 33.4 of F1’s Sporting Regulations, which prohibits driving slowly, erratically, or dangerously.

In a separate incident, Leclerc, frustrated by a ruined lap, swerved left towards Norris’s McLaren as he tried to get out of the way. This aggressive move caused Leclerc to clip Norris’s front wing, prompting both drivers to be summoned by the stewards. Norris reported damage over the radio, while Leclerc expressed his agitation, questioning the actions of other drivers. Ferrari noted that Norris had also obstructed Verstappen.

Additionally, Verstappen had to run wide at Turn 7 to avoid a slow-moving Norris, which was noted by the stewards. However, after reviewing the incident, they decided no further investigation was necessary.
