We are thrilled to have Coach Kidd continue to lead our team for the upcoming years with this well-deserved contract extension,” said Dallas Mavericks Governor Patrick Dumont. “Kidd has guided our team to two playoff appearances in three seasons, and we look forward to his continued leadership in enhancing and growing our already outstanding franchise.”
“I have known Jason for a long time, and I can’t think of a better or more qualified person to lead this team,” stated General Manager Nico Harrison. “As a former NBA Champion and Hall of Fame player, Jason brings unparalleled experience and expertise to this role. He has gained the trust and respect of our players and many others across the league, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to build on the culture and success he has established during his time as head coach.”
Kidd is in his third season as the Mavericks’ head coach, with the team achieving over 50 wins in two of his three seasons (52 in 2021-22 and 50 in 2023-24) and securing the Southwest Division title this year. Additionally, Dallas won a playoff series in two of his first three seasons, advancing to the Western Conference Finals in 2022.
