Latest News: Christie Sides Addresses Lack Of Teammate Support For Caitlin Clark

Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides recently commented on the controversial incident involving Caitlin Clark and the Chicago Sky. During the game, Clark was unexpectedly hit from behind, causing her to fall. This incident was followed by Sky guard Chennedy Carter taunting the rookie. The play quickly went viral on social media, with fans criticizing the Fever for not having an “enforcer” to protect Clark and retaliate on her behalf.

Sides addressed the criticism aimed at Clark’s teammates, who were scrutinized for their lack of response during the game against Chicago. Sides explained that in a different situation, such as during the Seattle game, teammates did come to Clark’s aid when she was involved in a scuffle with Vivians. She suggested that during the Chicago game, the hit on Clark went unnoticed by her teammates, which explained their lack of immediate reaction.

Despite the physical nature of the game, the Fever managed to secure a narrow victory over the Sky with a final score of 71-70. Clark continues to lead the rookie rankings in both points and assists, averaging 16.5 points and 6.5 assists over 10 games. The Fever faced a quick turnaround, playing a back-to-back game against the New York Liberty on Sunday. Although Indiana has lost both previous encounters with the Liberty this season, the team hoped to build on the momentum from their hard-fought win against the Sky to secure a better outcome.
