Sad News: Sydney Roosters star Crichton announced his intention of leaving the club due to….

Sydney Roosters star Angus Crichton remains uncertain about where he will play in 2025, admitting that negotiations for a new deal with the Roosters have stalled. Earlier this month, Crichton publicly criticized the club for not informing him about their pursuit of Titans star David Fifita. However, he now insists he has moved past the incident and holds no grudge. Initially, Crichton asserted he wouldn’t play second fiddle to Fifita and challenged Roosters coach Trent Robinson to discuss the situation with him. But in a surprising twist, Fifita decided to stay with the Gold Coast Titans, activating a two-year option that keeps him there until at least 2026.

Reflecting on the situation, Crichton acknowledged the business nature of recruitment. “I think at the start of the year, they were looking to the future and weren’t keen to re-sign me. Now, because I’m playing well, they’re interested again. It’s not personal; it’s just business,” he said. Crichton admitted he felt hurt when the news broke but emphasized that he has moved on. “I spoke from the heart, but there’s no love lost for the club. The Roosters have given me so much, and I have deep respect for the team, coaches, and players.”

According to AAP, several clubs have contacted Crichton’s management about his availability next year, including interests from French and Japanese rugby clubs. Despite recent talks between his management and Roosters supremo Nick Politis, no agreement has been reached, and Crichton remains undecided about his future beyond this season. “My manager has spoken with Nick, and they’re trying to figure something out. I’m not going to rush it,” he stated.
