Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is poised to take on a new role this summer as he prepares for his second season leading the Premier League club. Postecoglou’s first season had its ups and downs but is generally seen as successful despite the team falling short of securing a Champions League spot after a promising start.

Tottenham finished fifth in the league, missing the chance to overtake Aston Villa for fourth place when they were defeated by Manchester City. This match also marked a significant moment in the Premier League title race, as it was when Arsenal’s title hopes were effectively dashed. As Postecoglou gears up for pre-season, reports suggest he has accepted a major new role for the summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Postecoglou is set to join ITV for their coverage of the Euros, having emerged victorious in a contest with the BBC to secure his services. ITV has reportedly succeeded in bringing the Australian manager on board for their punditry team, although he wasn’t their first choice. Both networks initially sought Liverpool’s outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp, who opted to return to Germany to watch the tournament as a fan and take a break from work.

Currently, Postecoglou is on a post-season trip to Australia, which has sparked some controversy. Nonetheless, his distinctive personality has gained significant popularity since his arrival in England, making him an appealing choice for the punditry role. Other confirmed pundits for the Euros include Everton’s Ashley Young, who will join talkSPORT, and Conor Coady, who will be contributing to BBC Radio 5 Live. Coady, a 31-year-old defender for Leicester, has been part of the last two England squads for major tournaments.
