Done Deal:Sydney Roosters have Completed a Deal Worth $850,000 Million Dollar for….

Johnson, 33, is currently earning around $550,000 per season with the Warriors. Sydney was optimistic that their initial offer of $850,000 per season for two years would be enough to entice him back to Australia. However, Johnson indicated his preference to remain in New Zealand to be with his family, and he is expected to sign a contract extension with the Warriors. This new deal, as reported by The Sporting Base, will be valued at $700,000 annually.

This development is another setback for the Sydney Roosters, a club accustomed to securing top talent. They recently faced disappointment when Fifita decided to stay with his current team and when Dane Gagai declined to leave Newcastle for the Roosters.

Roosters’ coach Trent Robinson and the club’s leadership are now anxiously awaiting the departure of key players Joseph Suaalii and Joseph Manu at the season’s end. This concern is further heightened by Angus Crichton’s decision to explore other options after the club chose to prioritize signing Fifita rather than retaining Crichton.
