In the 2024 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers aimed to instill competition throughout their roster, a goal they effectively accomplished. Their first-round selection, Jordan Morgan, brings a blend of athleticism, top-notch pass protection skills, and adaptability to the offensive line.

In the scheme orchestrated by Matt LaFleur, Morgan is anticipated to swiftly earn a starting role; the only uncertainty lies in determining his specific position. The Packers intend to evaluate Morgan’s aptitude at left tackle, a move that potentially threatens Rasheed Walker’s current starting position.

Their first-round selection, Jordan Morgan, brings an infusion of athleticism, potential for elite pass protection, and versatility to the offensive line. It’s anticipated that he’ll soon secure a starting position within Matt LaFleur’s offensive scheme. However, the looming question revolves around which position he’ll occupy.

With Elgton Jenkins excelling at left guard and Josh Myers entrenched at center, and Zach Tom proving himself as a standout right tackle, the Packers seem steadfast in their lineup. Recent remarks from offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich indicate that Tom will likely remain on the right side of the line.

Though Morgan could transition to an interior role, adapting to right guard would require significant time, given his predominantly left tackle background in college. Consequently, the Packers are leaning towards giving Morgan an opportunity at left tackle, potentially displacing Rasheed Walker from his starting role.

General manager Brian Gutekunst is optimistic about Morgan’s ability to play any offensive line position except center, with indications pointing towards his initial stint at left tackle. LaFleur has confirmed that Morgan will commence his tenure at left tackle before exploring other possibilities.
