BREAKING NEWS: JC LATHAM SIGNS ROOKIE CONTRACT WORTH $26.04 MILLION WITH TENNESSEE TITANS

Just a little over fourteen days following his selection as the No. 7 overall pick by the Tennessee Titans, former Alabama tackle JC Latham has reached an agreement on a fully guaranteed contract worth $26.04 million over four years.

Latham showcased his prowess by starting in every game at right tackle for the Crimson Tide during both the 2022 and 2023 seasons, earning himself recognition as an AP Second Team All-American in 2023. As the second-highest lineman chosen in the draft, Latham is anticipated to vie for the left tackle position within the Titans’ lineup.

Standing impressively at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing 242 pounds, Latham exemplifies the ideal physical attributes for his position. His performance in the 2023 season was particularly notable, evidenced by an impressive tally of 41 knockdown blocks. Despite some reservations regarding his perceived lack of lateral agility, scouts and analysts widely concur that Latham possesses ample strength and maneuverability to compensate for any shortcomings in this aspect.

Now, Latham assumes a pivotal role as the linchpin of a Titans offensive line that has faced considerable challenges in recent years. With the presence of young quarterback Will Levis and a dynamic duo of running backs in Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, there is optimism that Latham’s inclusion as a day-one starter will not only bolster the offensive line but also elevate the entire unit’s performance, thereby enhancing Tennessee’s competitiveness within the AFC South division.
