Exclusive Deal: Packers just secure a contract extension of Jordan Love worth $13.5 million.

The Green Bay Packer secure a contract extension for quarterback Jordan Love, who is reportedly willing to exercise patience as other quarterbacks across the league negotiate their own lucrative deals, potentially reshaping the market for signal-callers.

There’s a prevailing sentiment in the NFL circles that the Packers are enthusiastic about reaching an agreement to extend Love’s contract, according to insights shared by Fowler. Love, on his part, seems prepared to bide his time, considering the impending paydays for other quarterbacks like Jared Goff in Detroit, Tua Tagovailoa in Miami, and Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville. These impending deals are expected to elevate the already substantial quarterback market, some commanding salaries exceeding $50 million annually.

Given Love’s selection in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft and his subsequent tenure behind Aaron Rodgers for three seasons before assuming the starting role in 2023, it’s critical for the Packers to secure his services for the long term. In March 2023, Love inked a one-year, $13.5 million contract extension, extending his tenure with the team through the 2024 season.

Love’s performance in his inaugural season as the Packers’ starting quarterback underscores his value to the team. He boasted a completion rate of 64.2 percent, throwing for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and just 11 interceptions. Moreover, he showcased his mettle in the postseason, tallying 466 yards and five touchdowns across two playoff games.

The Packers’ promising postseason run, spearheaded by Love, included a commanding victory over the Dallas Cowboys in the wild card round and a closely contested matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional round.
