The Titans officially inked their first-round selection, JC Latham, to a rookie contract, as announced by the team on Friday. The contract spans four years and is fully guaranteed, amounting to $26.04 million.
Coming from Alabama as the seventh overall pick, Latham is poised to vie for the starting left tackle position. With a collegiate career comprising 41 appearances over three seasons for the Crimson Tide, including 27 starts, he left a mark. Notably, in 2023, Latham was recognized as a first-team All-SEC member, showcasing his prowess as he started in all 14 games at right tackle. Additionally, he earned second-team All-American honors the same year.
An impressive statistic from Pro Football Focus underscores Latham’s proficiency, having allowed merely two sacks across 970 career pass-blocking snaps.
With Latham’s signing, the Titans have secured agreements with five of their seven draft picks. Among those already under contract are cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. (fifth round), receiver Jha’Quan Jackson (sixth round),
linebacker James Williams (seventh round), and outside linebacker Jaylen Harrell (seventh round). However, defensive lineman T’Vondre Sweat, the team’s second-round selection from Texas, and linebacker Cedric Gray, chosen in the fourth round from North Carolina, are yet to finalize deals.
