Caitlin Clark’s much-anticipated WNBA debut with the Indiana Fever was overshadowed by the Dallas Wings’ dramatic victory, sealed with a last-second three-pointer, securing a 79-76 win on Friday.

However, the evening posed its challenges for Clark. In a candid post-game press conference, Fever coach Christie Sides provided insights into the rookie’s physical condition during her inaugural professional game.

Clark was substituted late in the first quarter after playing just over 7.5 minutes, a decision Sides later scrutinized. “We need to improve. We can’t allow her to reach that level of fatigue,” Sides commented, emphasizing the importance of managing Clark’s stamina more effectively, especially considering the pressure she faces from double teams and aggressive defense.
